Machine mAGic Kit
(appropriate for grades 4 to 8)
The wheels are turning in this kit with activities and lessons that are all-inclusive and designed to bring impact of farm technology to life in your classroom.
This kit provides hands-on experiences for students to identify machinery parts and estimate farm machinery costs. They'll also learn about the history of farm machinery and the impact of modern farm techniques on families and communities, and they'll learn how inventors John Deere and Cyrus McCormick helped shape modern agriculture.
Students will solve logic puzzles, dive into history, and explore some of our economy's top issues.
This kit was developed under the leadership of the Illinois State Board of Education and the Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education project.
The mAGic (Multidisciplinary AGricultural Integrated Curriculum) Kit Series contains curricula that are multidisciplinary and designed to bring agriculture to life in the classroom. The mAGic kits address Illinois Learning Standards in math, science, English language arts, and social studies.
